Battle of the Fro-Yos

Zoe's Yogurt Village v. Red Mango

Ever since the sad closing of Ben and Jerry’s a few years ago, Broad Ripple has been dying for a spot to grab a frozen creamy snack (or at least I have). This summer, the strip got not only one but two frozen yogurt treateries. Red Mango is a national chain of yogurt shops featuring fresh yogurt flavors with fruit toppings. Zoe's Yogurt Village is a privately owned and has a yogurt menu with a few more flavors and many more topping options. Zoe’s was not only better yogurt, but was also a way better price. $3.10 for a small with 2 fruit toppings as opposed to $4.75 for the same order at Red Mango. Let’s get real, Zoe’s supports local business, offers a tangy taste you can get into, and keeps a few more pennies in the wallet; a perk any 30K can enjoy.

  1. I may have already developed a fro-yo addiction, courtesy of Zoe's. The raspberry/peach swirl topped with blueberries and gummi bears was foodgasmic. I've been there 3 times in less than a week.

One negative though: The bottled teas aren't so good. They taste okay, but they smell *super* funky. I've tried two. Not going to try a third.

  3. Yogurt village isn't real yogurt, it is made from powder mixed with water. It doesn't compare to Red Mango when it comes to taste and nutritional value. There is no way they can compete with Red Mango. Oh yeah I also heard Red Mango is opening up in Carmel arts and design district. Can't wait!!

This says it all. Zoe's > Red Mango
